Franz Josef Community Council
Franz Josef Community Trust is also known as Franz Josef Community Council (FJCC). The Community Council Holds Meetings the 3rd Tuesday of each month at Franz Josef Community Hall.
The Community Council is made up from elected or appointed Community Members who give up their time to ensure our Community is represented and that the issues brought to their attention are passed on to Westland District Council. FJCC is essentially the communities voice.

Ice Festival 2009
Franz Josef Ice Festival 2009
The Franz Josef Ice Festival is a themed annual Community Event that each year grows with participation and prestige. The festival started as a one day event and has now developed into a two day event. Featuring the Ice Ball, Market Day, Arts and Craft Exhibition, Barista Competition, Children's Disco and many other challenges the organisers can come up with. There is all ways room on the Festival Committee for inovative Volunteers to express their creative talents the organisation of the festival also enables community members to try their hand at gaining and developing skills in Networking, Marketing, Event Management, Entertainment, Logistics, People management and much more if you would like to develop your skills or gain further skills in this area why not join the Ice Festival Committee.

Fundraising
Fundraising:
The main focus of fundraising has become the New Health Centre, however the Community Council also has to up keep the Community Hall and the Community Gym. There are several fundraising initiatives underway the main being the Glacier Country Bottled Water sales. Franz Josef and Fox Glacier Community Councils are selling bottled water to raise funds for their Communities through various community businesses. Please help with the promotion of the water remember when you buy Glacier Country Water a percentage comes back to the Community and every bottle we sell helps a Community Project.
