The Concept:
Residents of the Glacial Highyway have long been used to the idea. If you don't have a vehicle you don't get far along the highway. Some are brave and walk, cycle or catch the bus between the Townships. Often we travel alone so why not offer a community member a lift.
Below are two forms one to offer a lift and one for community members seeking a lift. Just complete the require fields and submit your kind offer to give a lift. your kind offer will then be listed on the transport offered page. If you are in need of a lift then complete the lift required form and your request for a lift will be placed on the seeking a lift page, free of charge those seeking or offering lifts can then contact each other and make their arrangements it is that simple!!
As with all good things rules apply
They are as follows.
1. the person offering the lift has the right to only accept people they know.
2. a share of the fuel cost is expected i.e. you pay half
3. the person driving is obliged to wait for 10 minutes only, if you are not at the arranged pick up point. It is important to ensure you have a away of contacting each other if plans change.
This is a service for Community Members. It is not designed for people hitchhiking the Westcoast to obtain free transport nor for Backpacker lodges, motels, hotels or camping grounds to offer it as a service to their guests. However if you are the person offering the lift and you are happy to accept these people you do so at your own risk.

* We do not accept any responsibility for the service. including the time limit before your offer or request is uploaded but will endevour to do so in a reasonable time frame.

* Unaccompanied children must have signed consent from parents or legal guardian and remain the responsibilty of the parents or guardians.
* As a safety measure both forms collect the IP addresses of the computer uploading information to the form and keep a copy of the email generated by the form on file.
